The Space (PPRM HIV Dept.)
The Space is the home of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ New Mexico HIV Department, located at 136 Washington St SE in Albuquerque. It serves as the hub for two community-level intervention programs:
TeenMPower supports LGBTQ+ teens (ages 13–18) and their allies by promoting regular HIV testing, reducing sexual risk, building social connections, and empowering youth to support safer sex practices.
MPower engages LGBTQ+ young adults (ages 18–29), including gay, bisexual, questioning men and transgender individuals, with the same goals of HIV prevention, education, and community support.
Both programs take a non-traditional, peer-led approach to HIV education and prevention.
Additionally, The Space offers free, confidential rapid HIV and syphilis testing for all individuals—regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. A PrEP navigator is also available to assist with access to PrEP, DoxyPEP, and PEP services.
