NewMexicoWomen.Org (NMW.O) is the only fund of its kind in the state that invests in gender justice and healing. Our mission is to advance opportunities for women, girls, and gender non-conforming people statewide so they can lead self-sufficient, healthy, and empowered lives. We are a place-based, intermediary funder, and our strategic focus is gender justice and healing. In addition to grantmaking, NMW.O engages in training and education, research, and narrative shift work.
We see our gender justice and healing framework as intersectional. It encompasses social, economic, and environmental justice aspects, with a specific and explicit gender lens. It allows our intersectional feminist approach to be more inclusive of lived experiences of race, class, immigration status, as well as a spectrum of gender identities.
